Four Components
Green Trade Initiative works on the strategic development of the Egyptian agro-industry to increase exports from Egypt to European markets via Italy.

Guided by scientific research, innovation and an integrated value chain approach, technical assistance is provided to small and medium producers, exporters and institutions at every step of the chain. GTI focuses on eight horticultural products: tomato, artichoke, grape, lettuce, pepper, strawberry, green bean and pomegranate.

GTI is implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in partnership with the Egyptian Ministry of Industry, Trade and SMEs.

GTI is funded by the Italian Development Cooperation within the framework of the Italian-Egyptian Debt for Development Swap Programme.
